KINGSTON, RI – The Quinnipiac baseball team continues non-conference play as the Bobcats head to Kingston for a midweek road contest at Rhode Island. First pitch from Bill Beck Field is set for 2 p.m.

- The Bobcats took the series opener on Friday, 8-5, before dropping Saturday and Sunday's contests, 7-3 and 7-4
- The Rams enter the contest at 3-19 on the season

- The Rams are 1-5 in their last six games
- URI dropped two-of-three contests against No. 18 UConn
- The Rams took the middle game, 6-2, while dropping games one and three, 19-2 and 4-1

- Quinnipiac's leading returning hitter, Ian Ostberg, tallied 23 hits last season and tallied 14 runs
- Ostberg registered multiple hits in four games last season, including three hits in two contests
- A member of the 2019 All-MAAC First Team, Ostberg recorded just one error in 46 chances last season
- Ostberg made his return to the QU lineup this past week, batting .333 in 12 at-bats, with two doubles and four RBIs
- Kyle Maves returns for his senior campaign after batting a career-high .271 in 21 games last season
- Recorded 16 hits with three doubles, nine runs scored, six RBIs and four stolen bases in 2021
- Maves is batting .313 on the season with 21 hits and 15 runs scored
- He leads the team in batting average runs scored (15), walks (12), steals (10) and triples (2)
- Jared Zimbardo returned to Hamden for his sophomore campaign and has been lighting it up at the plate
- Boasting a .383 batting average, Zimbardo has notched 18 hits on the young campaign
- Zimbardo leads the team in batting average (.383), slugging percentage (.511), and on-base percentage (.463)
- In his last four games, Zimbardo is batting .556 with 10 hits including four doubles
- He boasts an .889 slugging-percentage during the span
- Michael Kohn has erupted at the plate over his last three games
- In his last three appearances, Kohn is batting .308 with three homers and five RBIs
- Kohn has homered in three consecutive games played
- Kohn blasted a three-run homer in Quinnipiac's 8-5 victory over St. John's on March 25
- Kohn's three homers on the season are tops on the team
- A transfer from SUNY Cortland, Anthony Donofrio took no time at all to adjust to find his fit in the Bobcats' lineup
- Donofrio is batting .304 and leads the team in hits (21) while ranking second in runs scored (13)
- He also ranks second on the team with four doubles
- In the opening weekend at Saint Joseph's, Donofrio batted .462 with six hits, five RBIs and two stolen bases
- In just his second game in a Bobcats' uniform, Donofrio went 4-for-4 from the plate with two runs scored vs. Saint Joseph's on Feb. 19
- He followed that performance with two hits and four RBIs in an 18-8 victory over Saint Joseph's on Feb. 20
- Junior Danny Melnick got off to a hot start to open the season
- He boasts a .267 batting average on the season
- Melnick ranks second on the team in homers (2), while leading in RBIs (12) and doubles (5)
- Melnick led the offense in the opening series at Saint Joseph's, batting .600 with six hits, four runs scored and four RBIs in just two games played
- Melnick went 3-for-5 with a double, a run scored and two RBI against Saint Joseph's on Feb. 19
- He followed that performance with three hits, a homer, three runs scored and four RBIs in an 18-8 victory over Saint Joseph's on Feb. 20
- Junior Brandyn Garcia has assumed the role of ace of the staff this season
- Garcia is 3-3 on the season and boasts 37 strikeouts in 33.1 innings pitched
- Garcia has earned a win in three of his last four starts, with his most recent win coming in an 8-4 victory over St. John's on March 25
- In that contest he tossed six scoreless innings and struck out five en route to his third win of the season
- Garcia earned a win in QU's 6-5 victory over George Mason on March 11
- He logged seven innings and struck out 10 in the start
- The Bobcats will be back in action on Friday, April 1 when QU plays host to Canisius in its MAAC and home-opener
- First pitch is set for 3 p.m. from the QU Baseball Stadium
