QU Headed to League Championship on Sunday in Hamden

HAMDEN, Conn.— Rebecca Cooke scored the Bobcats' lone goal against Canisius on a penalty kick, sending top-seeded Quinnipiac past Canisius in the MAAC Semifinals on Thursday afternoon in Hamden.

The Bobcats will now host the MAAC title contest, which will take place on Sunday afternoon in Hamden vs. No. 3 Niagara (12:00 PM).

NOTES

The Bobcats clinched their third MAAC Championship appearance since joining the league.
Quinnipiac also reached the title match in 2016 and 2021.
QU's last NCAA Tournament appearance came in 2000, when the Bobcats won the NEC Championship.
Rebecca Cooke now has 20 goals and 47 points on the season.
Cooke is still ranked No. 1 in the nation for total goals scored.
The Bobcats outshot Canisius 17-1 in total.
Sofia Lospinoso saw 90 minutes of action against the Griffins, registering her fifth clean sheet of the season.
