Women's Golf Leads After First Round at MAAC Championships

Three Bobcats In Top-10 Individually
LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. – After one round of play at the 2021 MAAC Championships, the Quinnipiac women's golf team is in first place, recording a team score of 304 (+16). They are five strokes ahead of second place, Albany.
The Bobcats team score of 304 is the lowest round in a conference tournament in program history.
Quinnipiac finished the first round as the best team on the par threes, shooting +1. It is second on the par fours (+19) and the par fives (+7).
Three Bobcats are currently in the top-10 after one round of play. Sophomore Kaylee Sakoda is tied for second individually as she carded a 74 (+2). Junior Darby Lillibridge is tied for fifth, after she shot a 75 (+3) and sophomore Leeyen Peralta is tied for seventh, carding a 76 (+4).
Captains Elena Ybarra and Elena Lopez rounded out the five Bobcat golfers as Ybarra sits tied for 16th with a 79 (+7) and Lopez is tied for 30th after shooting a 83 (+11).

SCORES AND NOTES
- Sakoda recorded 12 consecutive pars to begin her round. She recorded a birdie on the par four, 17th.
- After shooing +3 on the front nine, Lillibridge shot an even par back nine.
- Lillibridge is one of only three players to record a birdie on a par three in the first round.
- Peralta recorded two birdies on the back nine to shoot even par over the final nine holes.
- Both Ybarra and Lopez used a birdie apiece to shoot +2 on the back nine.
- Between the Bobcats' five players, they shot +6 on the back nine.
