Softball to Travel to Manhattan for Tuesday Doubleheader

HAMDEN, Conn. - The Quinnipiac softball team will hit the road to face the Manhattan Jaspers on Tuesday, March 30 at 1 and 3 p.m. The doubleheader against the Jaspers was moved up one day from the originally scheduled doubleheader on Wednesday, March 31. The Bobcats are looking to bounce back after a tough weekend against the Monmouth Hawks.

Last Time Out
Quinnipiac hosted the Monmouth Hawks March 26-27. The Hawks swept the Bobcats on both days. Sophomore Katherine Rodriguez led the team in the four-game series, going 5-for-11 (.454) with two doubles, one run and five RBIs. In the final game of the Saturday doubleheader, junior Bridget Nasir went 3-for-3 with one RBI to lead Quinnipiac in a hard fought battle against the Hawks that ended in a 7-4 loss.
Scouting Manhattan
The Jaspers are 3-3 this season after playing a four-game series with Fairfield and a doubleheader with Saint Peter's. Vani Patel leads the Jaspers with a .526 batting average, with 10 hits, two runs, two doubles, one triple, one home run and two RBIs. In the circle, four different Jaspers have made appearances throughout the season. Marika Deemer leads the team with a 0.00 ERA after pitching 8.2 innings. Kali Puppolo is 1-1 on the season with a 2.57 ERA, and Jessie Rising is 1-1 with a 4.04 ERA.
In the Circle
First-year Julia Woeste pitched 18 innings against Monmouth. She recorded five strikeouts. Senior Kayla Jensen also recorded time in the circle, pitching five innings and striking out one Hawk.

Quinnipiac's MAAC four-game series at Saint Peter's has been postponed due to a positive COVID-19 test within the Peacocks Tier 1 group. Future dates have not been announced.
