Quinnipiac Falls in Tight Battle at URI

NEWPORT, R.I. – Quinnipiac women's tennis fell in a tight battle against Rhode Island, 4-3, on Saturday afternoon at the International Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport.
Claire Koscielski, Dominique Vasile and Stephanie Yanosov all won their respective singles match for the Bobcats, while Koscielski and Kamilla Nella teamed up to earn a victory in No. 1 doubles.

- Claire Koscielski is now 4-0 to begin the season in the No. 2 singles spot. She earned a 6-3, 6-0 win over URI's Erin Chratian in No. 2 singles today to continue her perfect streak.
- Koscielski defeated Bekirova (Stony Brook) 6-2, 6-1 to begin the spring season, then topped Niagara's Rodriguez 6-1, 7-5 to begin MAAC play. The sophomore bested Hoppe (UConn) on Thursday afternoon in straight sets 7-5, 6-1.
- Dominique Vasile picked up a point at No. 3 singles, downing Halah Davis in three sets: 7-6 (3), 2-6, 7-5. Vasile is now 3-1 in singles play so far in 2021.
- Stephanie Yanosov recorded her second singles victory of the year. She grabbed the No. 6 singles point for Quinnipiac, fighting to a 1-6, 6-3, 6-0 victory in three sets.
- Kamila Nella/Claire Koscielski won at No. 1 doubles, marking their second win as a tandem in spring 2021. Nella and Koscielski topped Stony Brook's Bekirova/Wei on March 6 in the season opener.
