Aisha Gay Named MAAC Track Performer of the Week

EDISON, N.J. - Senior Aisha Gay has been named the MAAC Track Performer of the Week for her performance at the BU Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener, as announced by the league on Tuesday, Dec. 7.
Gay led the Bobcats in the 300m event, finishing in first place and notching a school recording-breaking time of 38.77. The school record in the 300m was previously held by Shameal Samuels, who ran the 300m in 39.68 in 2014. She also was a member of the 4x400m relay team (sophomore Alyssa Romagnoli, Eileen Donovan, Rylie Smith) that finished in fourth place with a time of 3:55.64.
This is the first MAAC Track Performer of the Week award for the 2021-22 season, and Gay's first weekly award honor of her career.
The Bobcats will be back in action on Saturday, Dec. 11 at the Yale Season Opener in New Haven, Conn.
