HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac men's basketball earned a MAAC win on Saturday night at the People's United Center in Hamden, topping Niagara by the final score of 78-69.

Jacob Rigoni surpassed 1,000 career points for the Bobcats, scoring 11 total points on 2-of-5 shooting. The senior forward reached 1,000 points for his career on a free throw with 15:23 left in the first half.

Brendan McGuire recorded a double-double in the win, posting a career-high 19 points and 10 rebounds. Seth Pinkney added 15 points and eight rebounds on a perfect 5-of-5 shooting.

NOTES

The Bobcats shot 23-of-49 (43.9 percent) from the floor in the win. Quinnipiac knocked down seven three-point field goals – as Jacon Rigoni and Brendan McGuire each hit two shots from distance.
Quinnipiac led for 34+ minutes of time in total. The Bobcats defense forced 14 Niagara turnovers.
Quinnipiac bench was impressive in the victory, outscoring the Purple Eagle's bench 35-9.
Luis Kortright scored a big bucket with 2:47 left, driving to the hoop for two points to put the Bobcats up by four points (68-64).
Brendan McGuire then knocked down a three-pointer with 1:13 left, making it 71-64.
With 11 more points tonight, Jacob Rigoni has now reached 1,000 for his Quinnipiac career. The senior forward is the Bobcats' 43^rd player all-time to reach 1,000, and just the 17^th at the Division I level.
Rigoni has scored 10+ points in four straight games now, tallying double-digit scoring totals in seven games this year.
Brendan McGuire recorded a double-double, posting 19 points to go along with 10 rebounds in 26 minutes. McGuire shot 5-of-9 from the floor.
McGuire has now reached double-digit scoring totals in four games.
Seth Pinkney added 16 points, eight rebounds and three helpers in 30 minutes of playing time. The sophomore big man was 5-of-5 from the floor, and recorded a team-best +13 plus-minutes rating.
Pinkney is now 30-of-36 (83.3 percent) from the field in 2020-21. The big man has gone 60-of-78 (76.9 percent) for his Bobcats' career.
First-year wing Luis Kortright chipped in with nine points, five assists and four rebounds, shooting 3-of-8 from the field.
Savion Lewis added nine points, and Tymu Chenery scored eight points.
Redshirt first-year JJ Riggins scored a career-best seven points – all in the first half. Riggins shot a perfect 3-of-3 in 5 minutes played.
