Quinnipiac Shoots 57.4%, Knocks Down 11 3-Pointers in Win
FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Quinnipiac men's basketball used an impressive offensive outburst to earn a league win at Fairfield on Sunday, Feb. 7, topping the Stags 78-63 at Alumni Hall.
The Bobcats shot 31-of-54 (57.4 percent) from the floor, knocking down a season-best 11 three-point field goals.
First-year guard Luis Kortright scored a season-high 20 points to go along with 10 assists in the win – his first collegiate double-double. Senior forward Jacob Rigoni added 20 points of his own, knocking down five three-pointers.

- Quinnipiac posted a season-best mark in shooting percentage (56.4 percent) and three-pointers made (11).
- The Bobcats went on a 27-13 run over the final 10:11 of the first half, taking a 40-24 lead into the locker room. Quinnipiac shot 6-of-12 from three-point distance over the first 20 minutes, and nine different players scored.
- Quinnipiac's 40 first-half points are the second-highest total the team has posted over the first 20 minutes of a game this year. The Bobcats scored 42 first-half points against Fairleigh Dickinson in the season opener on Nov. 25.
- The Bobcats' bench held a 35-21 scoring edge. Quinnipiac outscored Fairfield in the paint 34-26.
- Quinnipiac made six three-pointers in the first half, then five in the second stanza.
- Luis Kortright recorded career-high marks in points (20) and assists (10). He also tied a career-best mark for rebounds (4). The first-year guard shot 8-of-10 from the floor, and threw down two contested dunks over 30 minutes played. Kortright had a team-best +23 plus/minus rating.
- Jacob Rigoni added season-high marks in points (20) and three-pointers made (five). Rigoni has now recorded 10+ points in eight total games this year, recording double-digit point totals in each of the last five contests. Rigoni also grabbed four rebounds.
- Seth Pinkney chipped in with 11 points and two rebounds – shooting 5-of-5 from the field. The sophomore is now 35-of-41 (85.4 percent) from the field in 2020-21.
- Matt Balanc added eight points and three rebounds – shooting 3-of-4 from the floor.
- Tymu Chenery recorded five points, four rebounds and two assists, Savion Lewis added four points and four rebounds, and JJ Riggins scored four points.
- Quinnipiac largest lead was 21 points, which came with 12:22 left in the second half of action. The Bobcats led for 34:10.
- Head Coach Baker Dunleavy now has 48 career wins with the Bobcats, needing two more to reach 50.
- The Bobcats and Stags will battle again tomorrow (Monday, Feb. 8) at 2:00 PM from Alumni Hall in Fairfield. Tip-off is set for 2:00 PM on ESPN+
