WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – Quinnipiac men's basketball fell at Monmouth, 92-80, in overtime on Friday night in West Long Branch.

Jacob Rigoni recorded his second double-double of the season in the loss. Rigoni paced the Bobcats with 18 points and 14 rebounds in 35 minutes.

Tymu Chenery (17 points), Tyrese Williams (14 points) and Savion Lewis (14 points) all contributed with double-digit scoring totals.

The Bobcats shot 27-of-65 (41.5 percent) from the floor in total. Quinnipiac went 9-for-26 from three-point distance.
Quinnipiac's defense forced Monmouth to shoot just 28-of-81 (34.6 percent) from the floor. The Bobcats held Monmouth to 11-of-39 (28.21 percent) shooting in the first half.
QU forced 17 Monmouth turnovers, as the Bobcats recorded 12 steals. Savion Lewis had four steals.
Quinnipiac jumped out to an early 12-5 lead over the first 7:12. The Bobcats led 35-28 at halftime.
Monmouth was down eight points with 1:37 left in regulation. The Hawks came back to force overtime, then outscored QU 19-7 in the extra period.
With 18 more points tonight, Jacob Rigoni now has 965 points for his career – needing just 35 more to reach 1,000. The senior forward will be the Bobcats' 43^rd player all-time to reach 1,000, and just the 17^th at the Division I level.
Jacob Rigoni has grabbed 10+ rebounds in three of his last four games. He has 38 total rebounds in his last four contests.
Tymu Chenery had 17 points on 7-of-12 shooting. The first-year wing leads the Bobcats in scoring (11.9 PPG) through the first seven games of the year.
Point guard Savion Lewis added 14 points, six assists, four rebounds and four steals in 35 minutes.
Tyrese Williams recorded a season-high 14 points on 5-of-10 shooting.
Seth Pinkney stuffed the stat sheet with seven points, nine rebounds (ties season-best total) and four blocked shots. The sophomore big man is now 21-of-25 (84.0 percent) from the floor this season.
