Bobcats' First-Year Joins Impressive List of Quinnipiac Rookies to Earn Team Award
HAMDEN, Conn. - Quinnipiac men's ice hockey first-year forward Skyler Brind'Amour (Raleigh, North Carolina) has been named the team's 2019-20 Rookie of the Year, as voted on by the team's players and coaches.
Brind'Amour joins an impressive list of Quinnipiac first years to take home the team's rookie of the year award that have gone on to successful NCAA and professional careers.
Brind'Amour led all Quinnipiac rookies with nine assists and 13 points while his four goals ranked second. He really made his impact felt at the faceoff dot as he ranked second among ECAC Hockey rookies with a .575 faceoff percentage and was tied for fifth overall among all ECAC Hockey skaters.
He also made valuable contributions on the defensive end and special teams as he blocked 20 shots, tied for second with Alex Whelan (Ramsey, New Jersey) for second among Bobcat forwards.
