Three Bobcats Record Rounds of 73 or Better
KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. - First-year golfer Kaylee Sakoda (T39) moved up 29 spots on the leaderboard at the Kiawah Island Classic on Monday after a second-round score of 72 (E).
Fellow first year Leeyen Peralta (T39) and senior Alexandra Sazhin (T79) nearly matched Sakoda's effort as the pair both finished with scores of 73 (+1) on the day.

FIRST ROUND SCORES
- Sakoda's even-par round is her third round of par or better this season. She joins Queenie Lai, Sazhin, and Luciana Tobia as the only four Bobcats in program history to post three or more rounds of par or better in a career.
- After opening with three bogeys in six holes (+2), Sakoda finished the afternoon bogey-free. She made two birdies and ten pars to finish her round -2 in her last 12 holes.
- Peralta opened the round on a tear, recording three birdies in her first eight holes to shoot -3 in that stretch. The Californian cooled off down the stretch, but still made just two bogeys and a double bogey on her way to a +1, 73.
- Sazhin matched Peralta's round of 73, but did most of her work on the back nine. The senior played her last 10 holes at -2, thanks to eight pars and a pair of birdies.
- Elena Lopez made two birdies in the round, including one at Hole One which was her last hole of the day. The sophomore had eight pars in her round.
- Junior Queenie Lai improved on her first round score by three strokes (77) and made an impressive 12 pars on the day.
- Sophomore Darby Lillibridge is competing as an indiviudal at the Cougar Point course and currently sits in a tie for fifth (of 15) after a tremendous 75 (+3) today.
- Lillibridge was +10 in the opening round and improved by seven strokes today to move up four spots on the leaderboard.
- As a team, the Bobcats have played the par fours at +18, which is currently the seventh-best score of the round.
- The Bobcats rank fifth with 109 pars and 11th with 21 birdies to this point.
Quinnipiac concludes play at the Kiawah Island Classic with the final round on Tuesday morning.
