Fujita Sets New 54-Hole Program Record

State College, PA – Coming off a record-breaking round, the Quinnipiac women's golf program closed out play at the Nittany Lion Invitational with a team score of 294 (+6) to give them a three-round total of 864 (E). Quinnipiac finished the tournament in a tie for 6th place with the Yale Bulldogs.
Sophia Fujita was QU's highest finisher in the Invitational, finishing in a tie for seventh place (211, -5), which sets a new program record for the best 54-hole score. Fujita closed out the tournament with another below-par round (70, -2) to wrap up the first tournament of the fall season.
Michelle Wong closed out her first tournament of the season with a three-round total of 216 (E). Wong carded a 71 (-1) in both rounds on Monday and closed out with a 74 (+2) on Tuesday in State College.
Samantha Galantini finished the Nittany Lion Invitational with a tournament total of 219 (+3) after shooting a 76 (+4) in the final round on Tuesday. Galantini recorded QU's second-lowest score of the tournament with a 68 (-4) in the final round on Monday.
Marisa Flores shot a 74 (+2) in the final two rounds of the Nittany Lion Invitational to give her a tournament total score of 221 (+5).
Zoie Chan started her collegiate career strong with a two-day total of 223 (+7). Chan's collegiate career started with an even-par (72) round in the first round of the Invitational.
The Happy Valley Individual came to a close on Tuesday afternoon with Natalie Spiska leading the way for the Bobcats with a tournament total of 151 (+7). Spiska followed up shooting a 73 (+1) on the final 18 after shooting a 78 (+6) in the opening round of the tournament.
Amy Goddard improved on her score, shooting a 77 (+5) in the final round to give her a two-day total of 156 (+12).
Vaidehi Shah finished three strokes behind Goddard with a tournament total of 159 (+15). Shah carded an 80 (+8) in the first round and a 79 (+7) in the second round of the Happy Valley Individual.
Tekla Fine-Lease and Alexia Egdahl were the final two Bobcats who competed in the Happy Valley Individual, finishing with a 161 (+17) and a 162 (+18), respectively. Egdahl improved her score by four strikes on the final day of the tournament.
The Bobcats will be back in action on Monday, September 21st, as they open play at the Red Bandana Invitational hosted by Boston College.
