Bobcats Set New Single-Round Record at Nittany Lion Invitational

State College, PA – The Quinnipiac women's golf team set a new single-round record with a team total score of 279 (-9) in the second round of the Nittany Lion Invitational on Monday in State College, PA. Quinnipiac closed out the first day of the Invitational in fifth place with a two-round total of 570, which sits seven strokes back of the leaders, the University of Maryland.
Michelle Wong came in right behind Fujita with a two-round total of 142 (-2) as she shot a 71 (-1) in both rounds to open up her season.
Samantha Galantini had a stellar showing in round two after shooting a 75 (+3) in the first round. Galantini had the second-best round of the Bobcats on day one, shooting a 68 (-4) to close out the opening day.
Zoie Chan started her collegiate career with a 72 (E) opening round and a 75 (+3) in the second round. Chan finished with a two-round score of 147 (+3). Marisa Flores also closed out day one with a total score of 147 (+3), carding a 73 (+1) in round one and a 74 (+2) in round two.
Five Quinnipiac individuals closed out play at the Happy Valley Individual after playing one round on Monday at the Penn State White Course in State College.
Of those individuals, Natalie Spiska finished the first round with the highest score, shooting a 78 (+6) to start the tournament.
Amy Goddard finished a stroke behind Spiska with a score of 80 (+7) to begin her first tournament of the season.
Both Tekla Fine-Lease and Vaidehi Shah closed out the first day with a final total of 80 (+8), and Alexia Egdahl rounded out the first round carding an 83 (+11).
The Bobcats will be back in action tomorrow, Tuesday, September 8th, to close out play in State College with the tee times slated for a 9 AM start.
