Bobcats Start Fall Season at Penn State

University Park, P.A. – For the second straight fall season, the Quinnipiac women's golf team will kick off their tournament schedule at the Nittany Lion Invitational in University Park, Pennsylvania. The five Bobcats competing in the Nittany Lion Invitational will compete in 54 holes, while the five playing in the Happy Valley Individual will play 36 holes (18 on Monday and 18 on Tuesday).

TEEING OFF

For the second straight year, the Bobcats will begin their fall season at the Nittany Lion Invitational in University Park, Pennsylvania.
The Nittany Lion Invitational will be held at the Penn State Blue Course, with 36 holes being played on the first day, September 7^th, and 18 on the final day, September 8^th.
Last season, the Bobcats finished in 8^th place (906) out of 16 teams, led by Sophia Fujita, who finished with a three-round total of 219 (+3).

SOPH WENT BACK-TO-BACK

The accolades keep piling up for Sophia Fujita as she took home her second straight McLeod Trophy as she finished the 2026 MAAC Championship with a three-round total of 212 (-4).
Fujita became the first Bobcat ever to win back-to-back McLeod trophies and the first MAAC golfer to do it since Katelyn Mannix (Siena) did it in 2008 and 2009.
Along with being the back-to-back individual champion, Fujita was also named the MAAC Player of the Year.

WE'RE BAAAAAACK

The Bobcats will have nine returners from last season's MAAC Championship team, which includes all five golfers who competed in last year's conference tournament.
Each returner competed in at least four events last season, with six of them competing in five or more.

ANOTHER ONE

With a three-day total score of 885 (+21), the Quinnipiac Bobcats took home their second straight MAAC Championship and seventh MAAC title. The Bobcats finished three strokes ahead of second-place Fairfield.
Quinnipiac's best round was on day two, when they carded a 286 (-2), which was the second-best score throughout the tournament.
Sophia Fujita took home her second straight McLeod Trophy with a three-round total of 212 (-4), which set a new MAAC tournament record.

TOURNAMENT SEASON PREVIEW

The Quinnipiac women's golf team will compete in four tournaments in their fall portion of the schedule.
QU will begin their season at the Nittany Lion Invitational hosted by Penn State in University Park, Pennsylvania (Sept. 7-8).
Just two weeks later, the Bobcats will make another return trip to Canton, Massachusetts, to compete in the Red Bandana Invitational, hosted by Boston College (Sept. 21-22).
The Quinnipiac Classic is back for the sixth consecutive season at the Farms Country Club in Wallingford, Connecticut (Oct. 12-13).
Quinnipiac will close out their fall slate with the Lady Blue Hen Invitational (Oct. 24-25) hosted by the University of Delaware at the Rehoboth Beach Country Club.
