Peralta Named MAAC Golfer of the Week

First Year Earns MAAC Award for First Time
EDISON, N.J. - Quinnipiac first-year student Leeyen Peralta was named the Golfer of the Week by the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, as announced by the league offices on Wednesday.
The Brea, California native shot a second-round 68 (-4) at the FAU Winter Warm-Up in Boca Raton, Florida last Monday. Peralta shot a 78 (+6) in the first round and finished the final round with a 74 (+2), which led her to a seventh-place finish on the individual leaderboard.
Peralta finished the event tied for seventh with nine birdies over the three rounds and her 54-hole score of +4 is the second best mark in program history.
Peralta and the Bobcats return to action next Sunday at the Kiawah Island Classic in South Carolina. The tournament will last three days and is hosted by College of Charleston.
