Lai, Sakoda, Sazhin Take Charge in Final Round
CANTON, Mass. - For the second time in as many weeks, the Quinnipiac women's golf team broke multiple program records, this time at the Boston College Intercollegiate in Canton, Massachusetts.
Queenie Lai's even-par, 72, set the standard for a team score of 297 in Tuesday's final round. The final round marks finished up a 54-hole performance of 913, which is the lowest 54-hole team score in the history of the program. Tuesday's round was the fifth-best round in Quinnipiac's history and was the second round (out of 5) this season that rank within the top five all-time.

"I'm very proud of the way the team played today," said head coach John O'Connor. "The team is much deeper than we've ever had and on a day like today, any one of the six can go low. It proved to be very successful for us. Queenie again proved why she is one of the most dominating players in the conference. I'm very proud of the whole team and we look forward to our next competition at Yale."

FINAL ROUND SCORES
- Lai shot an even-par 72 in Tuesday's final round and finished tied for 12th overall at +11. The junior moved up 19 spots on the individual leaderboard after posting one of just five final round scores of par or better amongst all 79 competitors.
- Freshman Kaylee Sakoda followed up her second round 71 with a +2, 74, in the final round. The rookie finished at +13 in a tie for 18th place and was one of just three competitors to post a sub-par round in the tournament.
- Sakoda recorded a double-bogey on the first hole and played even par for the remainder of the round. Her 10 birdies in the tournament were tied for the most amongst all 79 players in the field.
- Fellow newcomer Leeyen Peralta recorded a +6, 78, that included a pair of birdies. The Brea, California native posted six birdies over the course of the three rounds and secured a top-30 finish with her three-round total of +16.
- Senior Alexandra Sazhin improved with each round of the week, finishing with a solid +3, 75, on Tuesday. Sazhin tallied four birdies in the final round and five for the week, finishing with a score of +17 and a tie for 33rd.
- Elena Lopez rebounded from a tough second round and put together a final round of 76. The sophomore birdied holes 2, 3, and 4 to start -2 in her opening four holes. She finished at +22 for the week and claimed a spot inside of the top 50.
- Sophomore Darby Lillibridge competed as an individual golfer this week and earned a tie for 24th place after her final round 79 gave her a +15 finish overall. Her 35 pars over the three rounds were the fifth-most of all players in the field and only two shy of the outright lead.
- As a team, the Bobcats tallied 33 birdies over the course of two days. Only Seattle (37) posted more birdies than Quinnipiac.
- Quinnipiac was third in the field in par 3 scoring as the team played the par 3's in an average of 3.22 strokes.
- Sazhin's five birdies this week moved her into a tie with 2019 graduate Luciana Tobia for most career birdies in program history (151). Queenie Lai is fourth on that list with 99 birdies and will look to become the fourth member of the 100 birdie club at Yale in two weeks.
- Lai has posted two par or better rounds already this season and is just two shy of the single season record that she set last year. Today's round also broke a tie with Sazhin for most par or better rounds in a career with six.
- The junior also recorded her fourth career 54-hole score of +11 or better and is one of just three players in program history to record such a score.
- Sakoda became the sixth Bobcat ever to shoot +13 or better in a 54-hole tournament.
