Mary Ann Powers Earns Third Straight Coach of the Year Award, Five Earn All-Conference
- ECAC ANNOUNCES MAJOR AWARDS AND ALL-CONFERENCE TEAM
DANBURY, Conn. – The Quinnipiac acrobatics and tumbling team earned three ECAC Acrobatics and Tumbling major awards and placed a league-leading five student-athletes on the all-conference Team, as announced by the league office Friday afternoon.
Camren Diaz (Oxford, Connecticut) has been named the Athlete of the Year, Cassidy Osher (Old Bridge, New Jersey) earned Specialist of the Year honors and head coach Mary Ann Powers was named the ECAC Coach of the Year.
Diaz is Quinnipiac's second straight ECAC Player of the Year after current assistant coach Jenna Adams '18 earned the honors last season. Osher is the first-ever recipient of the ECAC Specialist of the Year Award.
Powers' collected her third straight ECAC Coach of the Year Award after recording a perfect record against ECAC competition this season.
Diaz and Melanie Mancini (Waterbury, Connecticut) each received all-conference recognition for a second straight season after both earned NCATA All-American honors in 2019. Joining the pair on the all-conference team this year were Carly Duval (Tampa, Florida), Erin Redding (Farmington, Connecticut) and Asia Johnson (New Britain, Connecticut).
The Bobcats also had three athletes named to the ECAC Honorable mention to lead all teams with Osher, Megan Hamel (Methuen, Massachusetts) and Karen DeFilippo (Durham, Connecticut). Osher earned honorable mention status for a second straight season.
