Bobcats Second Baseman Records Quinnipiac's Fourth Four-Hit Game of Season
Quinnipiac scored runs in each of the first four innings of Wednesday's game, ultimately trying to cut down an early deficit but the Bobcats could not overcome the Owls 5-2 lead after the second inning. The Bobcats pulled within a run in the fourth inning but the Owls' bullpen allowed just one run over the final 6.1 innings to finish off the two-game sweep.
The Bobcats led the way with 12 hits in the game compared to the Owls' nine as Quinnipiac outhit its opponent for the sixth time this season.
Quinnipiac's top four hitters in Brian Moskey (Higganum, Connecticut), Huscher, Samuel LaChance (Dover, New Hampshire) and Evan Vulgamore (Bow, New Hampshire) combined to go 10 for 19 and drove in three of the four runs to lead the offensive attack.

FIRST INNING
- Huscher singled with one out in the inning and moved up to second on LaChance's first single of the game to put runners on first and second
- After working a 2-2 count, Vulgamore singled to center to score Huscher to take a 1-0 lead
- Colton Bender (Lebanon, Connecticut) walked to load the bases but the Bobcats left them loaded
- After FAU tied the game, Liam Scafariello (Southington, Connecticut) led off the inning with a walk and Ian Ostberg (Northampton, Massachusetts) was hit by a pitch to put runners on first and second.
- Scafariello was picked off second and the Bobcats fouled out before Ostberg stole second to put a runner back in scoring position.
- Moskey swiftly followed with a single to center field that scored Ostberg to take another lead.
- The Bobcats started to rally from their three-run deficit as Vulgamore doubled with one out in the inning and stole third base to put him 90 feet from home plate.
- After a strikeout, Vulgamore came home to score on a wild pitch.
- Anthony Cruz (Burlington, Massachusetts) reached on an infield single in the fourth inning before moving up on a groundout by Moskey
- Huscher ripped a single to center on the first pitch he saw to pull within a run of the Owls
- Huscher's four hits are good for a career-high as he tallied his fifth multi-hit game of the season
- The senior infielder now has 10 RBIs and is batting .333 on the season
- He is the fourth Bobcat to record four hits in a game this season
- LaChance had two hits for the third time in his career and now has hits in six of his seven games to open the season
- Moskey went 2 for 5 and had an RBI to record his first two-hit game since March 1 and has hits in nine of 12 games
- Vulgamore showed off several facets of his game with two hits, including a double, as well as a run, RBI and stolen base
- He now has hits in six of his last seven games and has scored a team-high 11 runs
- Bender extended his hitting streak to eight games with a single Wednesday night
- The Bobcats travel up the east coast to Richmond, Virginia, this weekend for the Spider Invitational hosted by the University of Richmond
- Quinnipiac will face Toledo on Friday at 10 a.m. and Bryant on Saturday at 10 a.m. before wrapping up the weekend at Richmond on Sunday at 2 p.m.
