NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – The Quinnipiac women's soccer team was edged by the Iona Gaels, 1-0, in a conference matchup on Saturday afternoon. Iona's Amber Crispin scored the game-winning goal in the 68th minute of the second half.

Second Half

(68' – Iona 1, Quinnipiac 0): Iona's Mackenzie Meixner took a set piece about 45 yards out from the goal. Andrea Ferrer flicked on a header to the back post, and Amber Crispin volleyed in the ball first time to give Iona the 1-0 lead.

NOTES

Freshman Meaghan Phillips tallied four saves in the loss.
The Gaels outshot the Bobcats, 14-9.
Each team recorded 13 fouls throughout 90 minutes.
Senior Ally Grunstein led the team with three individual shots.
Quinnipiac currently sits in fourth place in the MAAC standings with 12 points. Marist follows with 10 points in fifth. There is a three-way tie for the sixth spot between Niagara, Iona and Siena.

UP NEXT

Quinnipiac will finish off the regular season with two home games. The first will be on Wednesday, Oct. 23 at 2:30 p.m. against Manhattan. The final regular season game will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 30 against Siena.
