Bobcats Regain Spot in College Insider Mid-Major Top 25
HAMDEN, Connecticut – The Quinnipiac women's basketball team returned to the Women's Mid-Major Top 25 rankings on Tuesday. Quinnipiac earned 168 points, good enough for the 21st spot in the poll, as announced by the College Insider committee.
This announcement comes two months after Quinnipiac opened the season as the top team in the preseason poll (714 points, third-most in program history). After competing against the 24th-toughest non-conference schedule in the nation, the Bobcats dropped out of the poll in December, but are now riding a four-game win streak.
Quinnipiac's 2018-19 schedule has seen the Bobcats face six schools who are either ranked or in the 'others receiving votes' category in the College Insider mid-major Top 25 poll. Tricia Fabbri's squad defeated Marist (14th), Drexel (16th), and Harvard (RV), while dropping competitive contests to Central Michigan (4th), Bucknell (13th), and Princeton (20th).
The Bobcats also held Texas (#11 in AP Top 25) to its lowest point total of the season during the Gulf Coast Showcase (56) in a one-point loss to the now 14-2 Longhorns.
