
Four Members of QU Softball Earn All-MAAC Honors

Casey Herzog and Erin Larsen Named to All-MAAC First Team
WEST LONG BRANCH, New Jersey – Senior pitcher Casey Herzog and junior outfielder Erin Larsen were named to the All-MAAC First Team on Tuesday night, as the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference released its conference award-winners for the 2018 season at the annual banquet, hosted by Monmouth University in New Jersey.
Herzog and Larsen were named to the All-MAAC First team while senior Keilani Finley was named to the All-MAAC Second Team and freshman Brighid Douglas was selected to the All-Rookie Team.
Larsen's All-Conference accolade is the first of her career. Larsen served as the team's most consistent offensive player in 2018, leading Quinnipiac in several categories, including batting average (.345), runs (30), hits (48), home runs (8), RBI (29), walks (26) and total bases (86).
Herzog's All-Conference accolade is the second of her career, as she was named to the All-MAAC Rookie Team as a freshman in 2015. Herzog was Quinnipiac's top pitcher and ranked among the top hurlers in the conference in most pitching categories. Herzog's ERA (1.72) ranked first in the MAAC, while her career-high 17 wins ranked second. Herzog also led the conference in complete games (20) and innings pitched (182.2), while her 162 strikeouts were second. Herzog completes her career with 45 wins, which ranks fourth in program history, while her 490 career strikeouts are second all-time.
Finley's All-MAAC honor is the first of her career. The All-MAAC Second Team honoree batted .307 this season with six home runs and 24 RBI. Her 46 hits were third-most on the team and her four triples led the team. Finley finished her Bobcats career with 18 home runs, which ties her for fourth all-time in program-history with Kerri McMahon, while Finley's 121 career hits are tied with Lisa Briggs and Maria Browne for 21st all-time in program history.
Douglas earned All-Rookie honors after a solid freshman year. She started in 43 games and hit .299 with two home runs and 15 RBI. Her .379 on-base percentage was the third-highest on the team this season.
