HAMDEN, Connecticut — No. 3 Quinnipiac Acrobatics & Tumbling defeated the No. 5 Gannon Golden Knights 278.015-276.335 in its final meet of the regular season on April 8. The win lifts the Bobcats to a 5-2 record to end the regular season. The defeat drops Gannon to 5-3 on the year.

Compulsory
Quinnipiac jumped out to a quick lead, defeating Gannon in the Compulsory Event, 39.00-38.95. The Bobcats struck for four straight scores over 9.40, including a 10.00 in the Toss Heat.
Acro
Gannon overtook the lead after the Acro Event, defeating the Bobcats by a score of 29.40-28.55. The Golden Knights won the first two heats (5 Element and 6 Element), but the Bobcats earned a 10.00 in Heat 3 (7 Element) to win the final heat.
Pyramid
Quinnipiac chipped away at Gannon's lead in the Pyramid Event, defeating Gannon 29.65-29.50. The Bobcats won Heat 1 (Inversion) with a 10.00 score. The teams tied Heat 2 (Synchronized) with 9.90 scores, and then Gannon won Heat 3 (Open) 9.90-9.75.
Toss
The Bobcats bounced back at the start of the second half when they swept the Toss Event 29.50-29.80, winning all three heats in the event to take back the lead heading into the Tumbling Event. Junior Erin Redding (Farmington, Conn.) had victories in all three heats.
Tumbling
Gannon used a strong Tumbling Event to answer Quinnipiac's Toss Event sweep and pull within 0.20 points heading to the Team Event. The teams split the six heats, but Gannon closed the event with a 54.125-53.625 victory.
Team
The Bobcats put together an outstanding performance to win the Team Event, 97.69-96.21, leading to a final meet score of 278.015-276.335.

The Bobcats will head to Erie, Pa. on Friday, April 27 to compete in the NCATA National Championships, hosted by Gannon University.
