ERIE, Pennsylvania — No. 3 Quinnipiac Acrobatics & Tumbling fell to No. 1 Baylor University, 283.360-274.650, in the NCATA Championship Meet on Saturday afternoon. With the loss, the Bobcats fall to 6-3 on the season and the undefeated Baylor Bears advance to 11-0.

Compulsory
Baylor jumped ahead of Quinnipiac after the Compulsory Event. Baylor scored victories in every heat besides the Toss Heat in the Compulsory Event, where Quinnipiac was led by Melanie Mancini, Camren Diaz, Siobhan Robinson, Alexandria Barnes and Brinkley Welty. After the first event, Baylor led 38.775-37.775.
Acro
The Bobcats dropped an extremely close event in the Acro Event, 29.550-29.250. With the event victory, Baylor pushed its running total lead to 1.3 as the Bears led 68.325-67.025 after two events.
Pyramid
Baylor struck for a pair of 9.90 scores and defeated Quinnipiac in the Pyramid Event, 29.550-29.150. The strong first half sent the Bears into halftime with a 97.875-96.175 lead after the first three events.
Toss
The Bears continued their impressive afternoon, defeating the Bobcats in the Toss Event, 29.325-29.10. However, the Bobcats picked up a victory in the Open Heat in the Toss Event with a 9.950 score. The Open Heat was performed by Melanie Mancini, Jenna Adams, Camren Diaz, Allie Williams, Brinkley Welty and Erin Redding. After four events, Baylor had a 127.2-125.275 lead.
Tumbling
Baylor kept its strong afternoon going, scoring a 9.8 or higher in four of the six tumbling heats and defeating the Bobcats in the Tumbling Event, 57.750-56.275. The Bobcats struck for one heat victory in the the Trio Heat when Samantha Gormley, Chelsea Werner and Siobhan Robinson scored an 8.975. Baylor led 184.95-181.550 heading into the final event of the day.

Quinnipiac fell in the Team Event against Baylor, 98.460-93.102.
