BOSTON, Mass. - Senior Jessica Lee added another championship to an outstanding indoor season by capturing the individual title in the 60-meter hurdles at the ECAC Indoor Track and Field Championships on Sunday afternoon at the Boston University Track and Tennis Center.
Lee won by a full two-tenths of a second over the rest of the competition, crossing the line in just 8.25 seconds, just behind her school-record setting performance last weekend of 8.18. The second-place finisher, Courtney Warden of Stony Brook, ended in 8.45, just edging out Niamani Morrison of Albany in third place with a time of 8.49.
The ECAC title comes on the heels of three first-place finishes for Lee at the MAAC Indoor Championships two weekends ago, when she swept the 60-meter dash, the 200-yard dash, and the 60-meter hurdles. It was also the second title for the Bobcats this weekend, after Emily Wolff won the 5000 meters yesterday.
In addition to the 10 points for Lee's first place finish, the Bobcats also got four points out of the 4x800 meter relay. The team of Meghan Curtin, Alyson Caron, Ahmetra Davies and Marlo Wehrer crossed the finish line in 9:03.08 to come in fifth place, behind Monmouth, Delaware, Fordham and Richmond.
With 24 points overall for the ECAC Championships, Quinnipiac finished in 11th place out of the 44 schools which earned points at the three-day championships. Liberty, Albany, Cornell, Monmouth and Columbia represented the top five. Quinnipiac also finished second at the MAAC Championships, behind only Monmouth and two points ahead of Rider in third.
