ALBANY, N.Y. - The Quinnipiac women's basketball team quickly shook off a slow start with a 21-0 run and went on to capture an 82-62 win over Rider on Sunday afternoon in the MAAC semifinals at the Times Union Center. The Bobcats, who were led by Aryn McClure with 24 points on 11-15 shooting and Jen Fay with 17 on 8-12 shooting, move on to their conference championship game for the sixth year in a row, including all five since joining the MAAC in 2013-14.

Rider jumped out to a 12-2 lead in the opening minutes, but the Bobcats roared back with the next 21 to take control with a 23-12 lead in the second quarter, holding Rider scoreless for a span of 8:43, spanning the final 6:18 of the first quarter and the first 2:35 of the second.

The Bobcats had three players finish with double-figures in points with Aryn McClure leading the way with a game-high 24 points on 11-of-15 shooting and grabbed seven boards in the win.
Jen Fay scored 17 points on 8-of-12 shooting from the floor.
Paula Strautmane added 12 points, seven rebounds and three blocks in the win.
Quinnipiac got off to a slow start as Rider came out of the gates with a 12-2 run in the first 3:48 of the contest.
The run was snapped with a Fay layup with 5:43 remaining in the first quarter.
Fay's layup also sparked a 14-0 run to close the final 5:43 of the first to give Quinnipiac a 16-12 lead going into the second quarter.
During the run, Quinnipiac forced Rider to go 0-for-9 from the field.
Four different Bobcats scored on the run with Fay leading the way with seven points.
Quinnipiac's run extended to 21-0 before Rider scored with 7:35 remaining in the second quarter.
During the 21-0 run, Quinnipiac held Rider scoreless for a total of 8:43 of game time.
Quinnipiac took a 37-27 lead into the half.
Quinnipiac shot 47% from the field in the first half.
McClure led Quinnipiac with 12 points and Fay narrowly trailed with 11 first-half points.
McClure kept it going early in the third quarter, scoring eight straight points for the Bobcats in 2:16 of game time.
Quinnipiac's largest lead reached 20 after Strautmane nailed a jumper to put the Bobcats up 80-60.
