
QU Indoor Track and Field Competes at ECAC Championships This Weekend

HAMDEN, Conn. - The Quinnipiac women's track and field team heads to Boston this weekend to compete in the ECAC Championships, which will be held from Friday through Sunday at the Boston University Tennis and Track Center.
The Bobcats had several qualifiers for the event, led by senior Jessica Lee, who was last in action when she won three MAAC Indoor Championships (60-meter dash, 60-meter hurdles, 200-meter dash) at The New Balance Armory Track Center in New York City. Lee holds school records in all three events, after passing the 200-meter record with a 24.13 at the MAAC Championships.
Junior Carly Timpson will be competing in the high jump after earning a qualification with a school-record 1.74 meters this winter. She also earned a MAAC title with a jump of 1.70 two weeks ago.
In the distance events, senior Kaleigh Roberts will compete in the 3000 meters, while senior Emily Wolff will be in the field in the 5000. Roberts finished in second place in the mile and fifth in the 3000 at the MAAC Championships, while Wolff finished first in the 5000 and second in the 3000.
Two Bobcat relay teams qualified as well for the ECAC Championships, as both the 4x400 and 4x800 teams will be in the field. The 4x800 is scheduled to include sophomore Meghan Curtin, junior Marlo Wehrer, Roberts and senior Alyson Caron, while the 4x400 will feature Christina Barbaro, Meaghan Scullin, Melissa Solomon and Ahmetra Davies. Wehrer earned a qualifying time in the 400 meters, but elected not to compete in order to be focus on the 4x800.
