EUGENE, Oregon - No. 4 Quinnipiac Acrobatics & Tumbling shocked No. 2 Oregon on Sunday, March 11, defeating the Ducks and the Gannon Golden Knights in a tri-meet. Quinnipiac placed first with a final score of 274.585. Oregon came in second scoring a 272.23. Gannon rounded out the three teams with a score of 271.93. The Bobcats' victory over the Ducks was the first in program history. Quinnipiac was 0-9 against Oregon before today.

NOTES:

The win over Oregon was Quinnipiac's first win over the Ducks in program history. The Bobcats were 0-9 before today's meet.
Quinnipiac came in first in three events and tied for first in three others.
The Bobcats used a full-team effort to come-from-behind to defeat the Ducks in the Team Event to secure the victory for Quinnipiac.
Quinnipiac's first heat victory came in the Pyramid heat of the Compulsory Event as the Bobcats scored a 9.85
The Bobcats followed up with another heat victory in the Inverted Heat in the Pyramid Event as Karen Deflippo, Kaitlyn Kelly, Camren Diaz, Nicole Chamberlan, Jenna Adams, Erin Redding and Brinkley Welty combined for a 9.90, good for the Bobcats highest score of the day.
The third heat victory of the day came when Melanie Mancini, Adams, Diaz, Allie Williams, Welty and Redding struck for a 9.80 in the Open Heat of the Toss Event.

EVENTS
Compulsory
Quinnipiac jumped out to a small lead in the Compulsory Event, picking up a victory in the Pyramid Heat on its way to lead by .10 after the first event.
Acro
Oregon took the lead in the Acro Event as Quinnipiac failed to pick up a heat victory. After the first two events, Oregon led with a score of 67.05. Quinnipiac was in second with a score of 66.95. Gannon was in third with a score of 65.85.
Pyramid
Quinnipiac finished the first half strong, scoring at least a share of the victories in all three heats in the Pyramid event including a victory in the Inverted heat with a 9.90. The Bobcats corralled a .20 victory in the Pyramid Event and headed to halftime with the meet lead, 96.40-95.85-95.10
Toss
The Bobcats carried their momentum into the second half as they won the Toss Event by a narrow margin of .5 over Oregon. Quinnipiac struck for a huge 9.80 win in the Open Heat to propel them to the Toss Event victory and keep the Bobcats in the lead.
Tumbling
Oregon took its second lead of the day with a very strong Tumbling Event, winning the event 57-55.325.54.75. Quinnipiac tied for the lead in the Trio Heat to help keep Quinnipiac within striking distance heading into the Team Event

Team
Quinnipiac took back the lead in the Team Event, coming in second place in the Team Event and defeating Oregon to take the meet victory. Quinnipiac scored a 93.96. Gannon scored a 94.18 and Oregon scored a 90.53. With the strong Team Event, Quinnipiac won the meet.
