BOSTON, Mass. - Senior Jessica Lee (Montgomery, N.J.) set a new school record in the 60 meters and was one-hundredth of a second shy of another record with a personal best in the 200 meters to highlight the performance for the Quinnipiac women's indoor track and field team on Friday at Boston University's David Hemery Valentine Track and Field Invitational. Lee's 7.59 in the 60 meters placed her second overall (first among collegiate runners) out of 27 competitors in the field.
Lee began the winter at the Yale Season Opener in December by tying the old 60-meter school record of 7.66 seconds, which was first set by Shameal Samuels in 2015. She almost broke another of Samuels' records by taking almost a half-second off her personal best in the 200 meters with a 24.25, finishing seventh out of 207 runners (fourth among collegians), just behind Samuels' indoor record of 24.24 (Samuels holds the overall record of 24.17 in outdoor season).
