
QU Men's Basketball Falls On Road To League-Leading Rider

LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. – The Rider men's basketball team broke open a big first-half lead and went on to capture a 78-60 win over Quinnipiac on Friday evening at Alumni Gymnasium. Senior guard Cameron Young (Los Angeles, Calif.) led the Bobcats with 19 points and nine rebounds.

- Rider maintained its share of first place in the MAAC with the win, improving to 4-1, including four straight wins since dropping its conference opener.
- Rider used two runs in the first half to take a 39-20 lead at the break. The first was a 7-0 run to take its first double-digit lead at 19-8, the second was a 12-2 run to end the half to turn a 27-18 lead into a 39-20 advantage at halftime.
- Senior guard Cameron Young (Los Angeles, Calif.) got off to a quick start with seven points in the first five minutes, but picked up his second foul and cooled off after going to the bench.
- Quinnipiac got as close as 15 in the second half on a three-pointer from Andrew Robinson (Takoma Park, Md.), but Rider was able to answer with a 6-0 run.
- Senior Greg Tarca (Montgomery, N.J.), a former walk-on, had the final four points for the Bobcats playing in front of some hometown fans, setting a new career high.
- Freshman Jacob Rigoni (Adelaide, Australia) had 14 points, including 6-6 shooting from the line, while Isaiah Washington (Williamsport, Pa.) added 13..
- Quinnipiac was at a slight scheduling disadvantage heading in, playing its fourth game in seven days, capturing an overtime win at home over Marist on Wednesday. Rider, meanwhile, had been off since a win on Sunday.
