Two goals in the 2nd Period Not Enough for Bobcats
ORONO, Maine – The No. 9/9 ranked Quinnipiac University Women's Ice Hockey team fell to the Black Bears of the University of Maine 4-2 on Saturday afternoon. The Bobcats were led by Kate MacKenzie and Sarah-Eve Coutu-Godbout who each scored their first goal of the season. T.T. Cianfarano and Melissa Samoskevich each tallied their first points of the year, with both recording two assists.

- 15:37 1st Period (ME 1-0): Michelle Weis cleaned up a rebound in front of the net off of a shot from the right side by Brittany Kucera.
- 3:34 2nd Period (ME 2-0): Vendula Pribylova tapped in a rebound in front of the crease off of a shot from the right side by Tereza Vanisova. Michelle Weis also added the secondary assist.
- 5:17 2nd Period (ME 2-1): Sarah-Eve Coutu-Godbout finished from short range on the left side. Melissa Samoskevich sent a pass from the defensive zone that found T.T. Cianfarano near center ice. Cianfarano would find Coutu-Godbout after skating over the blue line.
- 11:29 2nd Period (Tied 2-2): Kate MacKenzie planted a one-timer for a power-play goal from close range on the left after a cross-ice pass from Cianfarano. Cianfarano was dished the puck by Samoskevich from a few feet inside the blue line
- 13:01 2nd Period (ME 3-2): Lydia Murray deflected a shot by Alyson Matteau past Abbie Ives. Matteau's shot was came from the left side after a pass from Ebba Strandberg
- 18:28 3rd Period (ME 4-2): Tereza Venasova scores on an empty-net.
NOTES
- Sarah-Eve Coutu-Godbout scored the third goal of her career for Quinnipiac. She now has eight points in 24 career games.
- Kate MacKenzie scored the first power play goal of the season for the Bobcats. It was her eighth career goal, first of the season.
- Melissa Samoskevich and T.T. Cianfarano each recorded an assist on both Bobcat goals
- Cianfarano, Samoskevich, MacKenzie, and Coutu-Godbout now all share the team lead in points with Abby Cleary (2).
- Freshman Allison Small made her collegiate debut in goal for the Bobcats tonight. She made 6 saves in 23 minutes.
- Abbie Ives came in in relief of Small and made 14 saves over the remainder of the game.
