- The Bobcats split a two-game set with the University of Maine Black Bears last Friday and Saturday.
- The Bobcats came away with a 2-1 victory on Friday, Sep. 29 and were defeated 4-2 on Saturday, Sep. 30.
- In Game 1, Sophomore Abby Cleary (Buffalo, New York) scored the first goal of the season for the Bobcats early in the 2nd period off assists from classmates Kate MacKenzie (Winnipeg, Manitoba) and Sarah-Eve Coutu-Godbout (Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec)
- Junior assistant captain Randi Marcon (Winnipeg, Manitoba) scored the game-winning goal late in the 2nd period off passes from Cleary and Raquel Pennoyer (Rehoboth, Massachusetts)
- This was Cleary's first career multi-point game at Quinnipiac.
- Sophomore goaltender Abbie Ives (Bedford Hills, New York) steered away 16 shots and got her first win of the season.
- In Game 2, sophomores MacKenzie and Coutu-Godbout each netted their first goals of the season.
- Kate MacKenzie's goal was the first power-play goal of the new campaign for the Bobcats.
- Junior captain Melissa Samoskevich (Sandy Hook, Connecticut) and senior assistant captain T.T. Cianfarano (Oswego, New York) each collected their first points of the year in the second game. They each assisted on both Bobcat goals.
- Ives took over in net early in the 2nd period and made 14 saves.
SCOUTING PROVIDENCE
- The Friars finished last season 17-17-3 with a conference record of 11-10-3.
- Providence went 3-3 against ECAC teams last season
- Head coach Bob Deraney returns for his 19th season at the helm of the Friars.
- The Friars have scored 13 goals in two games this season
- Providence defeated ECAC member 7-3 on Friday, Sep. 29 and Hockey East foe Vermont 6-2 on Sunday, Oct. 1.
- Junior Christina Putigna has scored two goals and collected six assists for eight points on the year, the most of anyone on the team
- Putigna is tied for the team lead in goals (2) with senior Brooke Boquist and sophomore Whitney Dove.
- Quinnipiac is 0-6-0 all-time vs. Providence.
- The Bobcats haven't faced the Friars since the 2003 season. The team was swept in all three games they faced Providence.
- Quinnipiac was ranked fifth in the Preseason ECAC Coaches' Poll.
- The Bobcats won 13 league games last season and finished fifth in the final ECAC standings.
- Only four ECAC teams (Quinnipiac, Clarkson, Union, and Rensselaer) played regular season games last weekend. No team played a conference opponent.
- The Bobcats have scored two goals in each of their first two contests.
- T.T. Cianfarano and Melissa Samoskevich each had two assists in the loss to Maine on Sep. 30.

- Sophomore Abby Cleary scored the first goal of the season for the Bobcats against Maine on Sep. 29 (W, 2-1).
- She also tallied an assist, recording her first career multi-point game in the victory.
- Cleary doubled her career totals in goals, assists, and points. She now has two goals and two assists, totaling four points.
- Randi Marcon scored the game-winning goal against Maine on Sep. 29.
- This was her second game-winning goal, the first coming in the 2016 ECAC Semifinals against St. Lawrence on March 5, 2016 in a 2-1 victory.
- Sophomore Abbie Ives played in six games for the Bobcats last season, starting three of those appearances, and earning a 3-0-1 record.
- In her time in net during the 2016-2017 season, Ives allowed only one goal. Her goals against average was 0.23 and she collected a .983 save percentage.
- In two games this season, has made 30 saves and has a 1.26 average goals allowed.
- Over the past eight years, only three Division I women's ice hockey teams have won 19 or more games each season: Quinnipiac, Wisconsin and Minnesota.
- Quinnipiac went 11-6-3 last season away from High Point Solutions Arena, including a six-game road winning streak from Nov.28 to Dec. 3, 2016, a new program record.
- Prior to this season, the Bobcats' longest road winning streak came in 2011-2012, when QU won five straight contests away from home from Nov. 12, 2011 to Dec. 9, 2011.
- Quinnipiac finished the 2016-17 season at No. 2 in the nation in team defense, giving up just 1.38 goals per contest.
- Quinnipiac was incredibly successful on the power play during ECAC play last season, capitalizing on 24.3% (18-of-74) power-play opportunities.
- The Bobcats scored first in 22-of-37 games during the 2016-2017 season. The team went 18-1-3 whenever they did.
- Quinnipiac recorded more shots than their opponents in 28-of-37 games last season, going 21-3-4 whenever they did.
- So far this season, the Bobcats outshot have outshot their opponents 56-41.
- T.T. Cianfarano reached 100 career points in the Bobcats' final game before the winter break last season, a 6-1 win over RPI on Dec. 3, 2016.
- Cianfarano reached the plateau in 94 games (56 goals, 44 assists). She would add two more goals and six more assists on the season to finish with 108 career points in 109 career games.
