Ansel Caps Breakout 2017 Season Leading Bobcats with 103rd Place Finish
BUFFALO, New York – The Quinnipiac men's cross country team concluded their 2017 season with a 30th place finish out of 37 teams at the NCAA Northeast Regional held on Friday at the Audubon Golf Course in Buffalo. Ryan Ansel (Danbury, Connecticut) closed out his impressive 2017 campaign with the top finish on the team at 103rd overall.

Quinnipiac graduates three seniors in Mannion, McAlary and Reed Kramer but return five of their top six runners from the 2017 MAAC Championships including Ansel who earned an All-MAAC 14th place finish at Holmdel Park in New Jersey.

- Tommy Consalvo (145th, 34:46.7)
- Michael Kiernan (154th, 34:54.2)
- Tyler Mannion (185th, 35:37.8)
- Ben Lanza (201st, 35:57.5)
- Connor McAlary (204th, 36:02.7)
- Matthew Allen (245th, 37:43.9)
- Ansel's breakthrough junior campaign reached another pinnacle as he led the team placing 103rd overall, a 73-spot improvement from his only previous NCAA Northeast Regional appearance in 2016
- Tommy Consalvo (Brookfield, Connecticut) placed second on the team, an improvement from his third place result on the team in last year's NCAA Regional
- Running in his first NCAA Regional, Michael Kiernan (Warwick, Rhode Island) was the third-fastest Bobcat while placing 154th overall
- Tyler Mannion (Brookfield, Connecticut) and Connor McAlary (Shoreham, New York) completed their Quinnipiac careers on Friday
- Mannion showed very well in his collegiate finale, posting his best finish (185th overall) in two career NCAA Regional meets (prev. finish 221st in 2015)
- McAlary also ran in his second NCAA Regional (first since 2014) and placed sixth on the team and 204th overall out of 256 runners
