
Quinnipiac Finishes 4th to Open Season on Long Island

STONY BROOK, N.Y. — The Quinnipiac men's cross country program placed fourth at the Stony Brook Season Opener on Saturday morning, putting one runner inside the top 10.
Sophomore Alex Saldana led the way, finishing ninth for the Bobcats with a time of 19:43.00, the fastest 8k of his collegiate career.
Shepard Livingston earned 17th place in his first collegiate race with a time of 20:01.20. Four out of Quinnipiac's best five finishers were first-year athletes.

- Saldana bested his previous fastest 8k, which also came at the Stony Brook season opener a year ago (19:47.00).
- First-year collegiate debuts for the Bobcats included Shepard Livingston (20.01.20), Tyler Deme (20:17.40), Preston Guman (20:35.10), Preston Gumann (20:35.10), and Michael Goodson (20:44.40).
- The Bobcats finished behind just Stony Brook, Fordham and Seton Hall for the event.
