Quinnipiac Athletics Places 219 Student-Athletics On MAAC Academic Honor Roll

Quinnipiac ranked second among all Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference schools with 219 student-athletes honored on the 2015-16 MAAC Academic Honor Roll. More-than 2,000 student-athletes were honored across the conference, led by Marist with 261. Quinnipiac and Fairfield were the only two other schools with 200 or more student-athletes honored by the conference.
To be eligible for the MAAC Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or higher on a 4.0 scale. The Honor Roll is open to both full-time and associate members in the MAAC. All 25 sports that the conference sponsors are represented.
"This is a direct reflection of our student-athletes commitment to greatness in the classroom as well as on the field of play," Director of Athletics & Recreation Greg Amodio said. "This was an incredible year for athletic achievement at Quinnipiac and I could not be more proud to add academic success to the list of accolades for our student-athletes this year."
Women's track & field led the way for Quinnipiac as 36 student-athletes were honored, followed by women's lacrosse (20), women's soccer (19), women's cross country and field hockey (18), men's soccer (15), men's lacrosse and softball (13), baseball (12), men's cross country (11), women's basketball, women's golf and women's volleyball (9), women's tennis (7), men's basketball (6) and men's tennis (3).
Five student-athletes – women's golf's Abby Chase, women's cross country's Amanda Lloyd, field hockey's Angie King and Selina Reichert and women's lacrosse' s Kaitlin Unser – all posted 4.00 grade-point averages for the year.
