After a one-out walk, the runner advanced to second on a wild pitch. Herzog then came through with a huge four pitch strikeout. A second wild pitch put a Hawk just sixty feet away from a trip to the MAAC Championship, but Herzog got the batter to foul out to Edmands behind the plate for the third out of the frame.

In their last at bats, Asher led off the frame with a base hit to left center and quickly stole second base. Monmouth then recorded three straight outs to end the inning and leave a Bobcat stranded.
