
Sarah Fraser Appointed Deputy Director of Athletics at Quinnipiac University

HAMDEN, Connecticut – Quinnipiac University's Director of Athletics and Recreation Greg Amodio has announced the addition of Sarah Fraser as the deputy director of athletics, effective June 1, 2016. Fraser comes to Quinnipiac from Ivy League institution Brown University, where she served as the senior associate director of athletics for compliance.
In her role in the newly created deputy director of athletics position, Fraser will serve as the senior woman's administrator (SWA) with direct oversight for compliance, academics and business operations. Additionally, she will be engaged in long-range strategic planning, sports administration, leadership program development and will be the direct liaison to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference and ECAC Hockey.
"We are very excited that Sarah will be joining the Bobcat family," Amodio said. "She offers an extensive background in senior athletic administration with a focus on compliance and enhancing the student-athlete experience. Sarah will be engaged in all facets of strategic planning, and I look forward to working directly with her to elevate the overall athletic and academic performance outcomes for the Quinnipiac University athletic department."
While at Brown, Fraser coordinated NCAA compliance efforts for the Bears' 38 varsity sports and 900 student-athletes, working extensively in NCAA rules education, policy development and the monitoring of student-athletes in accordance with NCAA regulations. Fraser was also the program administrator for men's ice hockey, men's soccer, women's ice hockey, women's lacrosse, baseball and men's and women's fencing.
She also served on Brown's Title IX Oversight and Advisory Board and the Campus Life Subcommittee on Athletics and Physical Education.

In 2015-16, Fraser served as the chair of the NCAA Women's Ice Hockey Committee and recently completed a term on the NCAA Men's and Women's Ice Hockey Rules Committee. In addition, she has been a member of the NCAA Division I Progress Toward Degree Waiver Committee, the NACWAA Legislation & Governance Committee and the NAAC Education Committee. Fraser is a member of the Board of Directors with USA Hockey and was also an Ivy League liaison for women's ice hockey while serving as a member of the Ivy League Ice Hockey Concussion Committee. Fraser previously served as the assistant commissioner for Women's Hockey with ECAC Hockey, where her administrative responsibilities included the day-to-day management of league operations.
Fraser graduated from Dartmouth in 1998 with a bachelor's degree in environmental studies. At Dartmouth, she was an All-American in ice hockey while also competing on the track and field team. Upon the completion of her collegiate eligibility, Fraser played for the 1999 United States National Team that won the silver medal at the IIHF World Championship. In 2003, she completed her master's degree in communication studies at the University of Rhode Island and in 2013, she completed the NCAA/NACWA Institute of Administrative Advancement.
