
QU Women's Ice Hockey's Taylar Cianfarano Named a Finalist for Best Forward in ECAC Hockey

ECAC Hockey Best Forward Award Finalists
ALBANY, New York – Quinnipiac women's ice hockey sophomore forward Taylar Cianfarano has been announced as a finalist for the ECAC Hockey Best Forward Award, as announced by the league office on Friday night.
The winner of the Best Forward Award will be announced on Friday, March 4 at the league's annual awards banquet prior to the semifinals and finals of the ECAC Hockey Tournament on Saturday, March 5 and Sunday, March 6.
Cianfarano is one of three underclassman named as the three finalists for the award, joining Princeton freshman Karlie Lund and Clarkson sophomore Cayley Mercer.
Cianfarano is in the midst of a fantastic sophomore season in which she led ECAC Hockey in conference games with 17 goals, 0.81 goals per game, a +45 plus-minus rating and two hat tricks. Cianfarano was also second in the conference with 27 points and 1.29 points per game. After tallying a hat trick in the Bobcats North Country road trip at Clarkson and two more at St. Lawrence, Cianfarano upped the ante with four goals and one assists four five-point against Union. She was just the second Quinnipiac women's hockey player in program history to record four goals in one game and third to tally five points.
Cianfarano finished the regular season with 27 goals and 21 assists for 48 points, netting the third most goals in a season in program history and fourth most points. With two assists in the Bobcats ECAC Hockey quarterfinal opening win against Rensselaer, Cianfarano has 50 points this season, just the third ever Bobcat to record 50 points in a single season in program history.
Her performance throughout the season led her to be named the ECAC Hockey Player of the Week three times while being named the player of the month in December.
The Quinnipiac women's ice hockey team leads Rensselaer 1-0 in their ECAC Hockey Quarterfinal matchup after Friday night's 3-2 victory, they will return to action on Saturday, Feb. 27 at 2 P.M. for game two of the series at High Point Solutions Arena.
