I started my morning off sending Snapchats to a few of my teammates, and texting my best friend. I was too lazy to get out of bed to get breakfast in the hotel before breakfast hours were up, so I had a banana, some peanut butter granola bars, and a bottle of water in my room. I watched a couple episodes of Gossip Girl on Netflix before I finally got out of bed.
I got myself ready for practice within 25 minutes and met Coach Steve and Coach Chris in the lobby. The track was a little crowded today. Could be because it was early, or more people came to Jacksonville for the meet today. We started our day off at the track, as I did my pre meet ritual once again. I did a two-lap warm up in lane nine, did some dynamic stretching, and then I used a foam roller to massage my hamstrings, IT band, and calf muscles. I also did a few static stretches before I did my lap around the track to visualize my race for tomorrow. This time, I visualized what could potentially happen while I ran. Something like pushing myself too hard in the beginning and becoming too tired with my legs full of lactic acid, and practically crawling to the finish line. I have to visualize worst case scenarios so I can aim for something better.
After practice at the track, we stopped at a restaurant called Zaxby's, which may have been a chain to KFC or Popeyes, for lunch. The food was pretty decent. I was in the mood for fried chicken, so I was content with my meal. Coach Chris and Coach Steve have been really excited about spotting some alligators since we've been here, so we went "gator hunting". We drove into St. Augustine with hopes of spotting an alligator. We saw the St. Augustine Light House and spent some time on the beach. Unfortunately, we did not find any alligators today, but I am sure the search is not over yet.
After we were finished with our adventure out in St. Augustine we came back to the hotel where I took a nap, watched some more Netflix, and then got ready for dinner. Tonight's dinner was of my choice, Red Lobster. The biscuits were really good. For my entrée I got the shrimp linguini alfredo, which was good, but last night's dinner topped it.
