QU Men's Soccer Assistant Coach Jason Grubb Presents at the NSCAA Convention

Hamden, Conn. – Quinnipiac men's soccer assistant coach Jason Grubb was a guest presenter this past weekend at the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Convention in Philadelphia. Grubb did a presentation on goalkeeper performances in the 2014 World Cup in front of the largest gathering of soccer coaches in the world.
A former semi-professional goalkeeper, Grubb just completed his fourth season as an assistant at Quinnipiac, concentrating primarily on coaching the team's goalkeepers. He has been instrumental in the team's recent success which can be noted by the play of two-time MAAC Goalkeeper of the Year, Borja Angoitia. Grubb helped develop Angoitia into one of the nation's top goalkeepers. As a senior, Angoitia will graduate from Quinnipiac has the program's all-time leader in wins (32) and shutouts (23).
Head coach Eric Da Costa had high praise for Grubb saying, ""Jason is a leader in the industry and one of the top instructors for Goalkeeper education in the country. Jason is an asset to our program, I am proud to have him on staff and certainly proud of his accomplishments and much deserved recognition."
Prior to coming to Quinnipiac, Grubb served as a volunteer goalkeeper coach for Newport County FC in Newport, England in 2010. Since 2009, he has worked as a the full time Director of Coaching and Director of Goalkeeping at SoccerPlus Academy, based in Hartford, Conn. As director, Grubb provides on-field and online mentoring for coaches, helping them to develop and assess prospective players and coaches.
