Colorado Springs, Colorado – Quinnipiac women's ice hockey senior forward Shiann Darkangelo (Brighton, Michigan) continues to shine with USA Women's Hockey as she has been named to the U.S. Women's National Team Evaluation Camp. Only 35 players are invited to the camp taking place from Sept. 12-15 at the University of New England in Biddeford, Maine.

13 members of the Olympic silver-medalist USA Women's National squad are amongst the field of 35 players invited to the camp. Highlighting the group of 13 Olympians joining Darkangelo at the camp includes Megan Bozek, Monique and Jocelyn Lamoureux, Michelle Picard, Alex Carpenter, Hilary Knight and Brianna Decker. All players will be divided into two different teams for the camp where they will compete in intrasquad scrimmages.
The purpose of the camp is to evaluate player progression and provide training guidelines for upcoming opportunities with the national team.
Last season for Quinnipiac, Darkangelo led the team with 23 goals and added 17 assists for 40 points. Darkangelo, a Syracuse transfer in 2013, finished her first season with the Bobcats' owning the team-lead with five game-winning goals, was second on the team with four power play goals, and third on the team with a plus/minus rating of +24.
The Quinnipiac women's ice hockey team kicks off its 2014-15 campaign when it hosts the Chinese National Team for an exhibition game on Saturday, Sept. 20 at 2 P.M at High Point Solutions Arena.
