comes into Hamden after a weekend split against Hockey East
opponent No. 3 Boston University on Thursday, Feb. 3 and Saturday,
Feb. 5. The Wildcats were victorious on Thursday night, winning 4-2
against the No.3-ranked team in the country. Four different skaters
scored for the Wildcats, while senior goaltender Kayley Herman play
a terrific game between the pipes, turning away 52 shots. The
Wildcats were defeated 3-1 on Saturday evening, as freshman forward
Nicole Gifford netted New Hampshire's lone goal. Freshman forward
Arielle O'Neill leads the team with 17 total points (10 goals,
seven assists), while sophomore forward Kristina Lavoie is tied
with fellow sophomore forward Kristine Horn as the team leaders
with nine assists. Having played in 18 of the team's 22 games,
junior goaltender Lindsey Minton carries a 1.84 goals against
average and a .926 save percentage thus far on the year. Herman has
played in nine games and compiled a 2.69 goals against average and
a .913 save percentage.
All-Time Against The
Wildcats
Tuesday's game
will be the eighth time the two sides will face each other with New
Hampshire owning a 7-0-0 all-time record against the Bobcats. In
their last meeting on October 4, 2009, the Wildcats defeated the
Bobcats 4-0. Freshman goaltender Victoria
Vigilanti (Woodbridge, Ontario) turned away a then career high
33 saves in the contest.

Quinnipiac earned
a weekend split against ECAC Hockey opponents Dartmouth and Harvard
on Friday, Feb. 4 and Saturday, Feb. 5. On Friday against
Dartmouth, freshman forward Kelly
Babstock (Mississauga, Ontario) led the charge with two goals
scored, as the Bobcats defeated the Big Green 4-0. Vigilanti turned
away 35 shots in the contest, earning her seventh shutout of the
season. On Saturday afternoon against Harvard, the Bobcats were
defeated 3-2. Babstock and freshman forward Amanda
Colin (Burnsville, Minn.) each scored for Quinnipiac in the
second period, however the Crimson roared back scoring three goals
in the final frame to earn the victory. Vigilanti had another busy
outing, turning away a season-high 41 shots on the
afternoon.
New
Career High
Vigilanti's
seventh shutout of the season in a 4-0 victory against Dartmouth on
Friday, Feb.4 marks a new career-high for shutouts in a season. The
sophomore netminder currently ranks third among ECAC Hockey
goaltenders with a 1.77 goals against average and is fourth with a
.932 save percentage.
Approaching the
Half-Century Mark
With three goals
and one assist over the weekend against Dartmouth and Harvard,
freshman forward Kelly
Babstock now has 25 goals and 22 assists on the season for a
total of 47 points. The freshman netted the first and third goals
of the contest on Friday, Feb. 4 against Dartmouth, earning her
league-high eighth game-winning goal of the season. The eight
game-winning tallies are also second best in NCAA Division I
Women's Ice Hockey. Babstock once again regained the NCAA Division
I Women's Ice Hockey freshman lead in goals, assists and points, as
she holds an incredible 1.62 points per game average on the
year.

Amanda
Colin (Burnsville, Minn.) collected a goal and an assist over
the weekend against Dartmouth and Harvard. The freshman now has
five goals and five assists on the season becoming just the eighth
skater on the team to have double digit points.

Sophomore defender
Felica
Vieweg (Port Orange, Fla.) netted her first goal of the season
on Friday, Feb. 4 against Dartmouth. The sophomore now has nine
points on the season (one goal, eight assists), while the goal was
her third career tally.

Example
Junior forward Kate
Wheeler (Oakville, Ontario) netted an empty-net goal for the
Bobcats in its 4-0 victory over Dartmouth, giving her 12 goals on
the season. Wheeler (12 goals, 13 assists) has scored at least one
point in five of the last seven games for the Bobcats.
Defense Digs In
Quinnipiac's
penalty kill unit held both Dartmouth (0 for 4) and Harvard (0 for
3) scoreless on its power play chances over the weekend. On the
season, the Bobcats have killed 91 of 101 incurred penalties for an
89.1 penalty kill percentage.

Flat
The Bobcats have
taken exactly 900 shots on goal this season, the most among all
ECAC Hockey teams. This bodes well for Quinnipiac, as it is an
impressive 14-2-0 when it outshoots its opponents in a
game.
