Ike Azotam Named Choice Hotels NEC Co-Rookie of the Week

HAMDEN, Conn. - Quinnipiac University freshman men's basketball forward Ike Azotam (Boston, Mass.) has been named the Choice Hotels Northeast Conference Co-Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league office today. Azotam scored a game-high 15 points on 7-for-7 shooting and added seven rebounds in the Bobcats' 69-52 victory at Dartmouth on Tuesday.

Azotam's 7-for-7 performance was the first 100-percent outing of more than five attempts since Karl Anderson went 5-for-5 against Monmouth on Feb. 21, 2008. Azotam is also the first Quinnipiac player to earn NEC Rookie of the Week since James Johnson (Queens, N.Y.) took the award on Dec. 1, 2008.
