Junior
centerfielder Brian Monack's diving-catch against College of
Charleston last week was named the No. 2 play on ESPN
SportsCenter's Plays Of The Week segment. Monack had the play of
the day on Thursday, March 12 and was also featured on several
local sports news shows.
The
Bobcats' centerfielder also earned the No. 1 spot on ESPN's Top-10
Plays of the Day last April when Monack caught a would-be homerun
while diving over the centerfield fence at Quinnipiac Field. He
also made an appearance on the ESPN morning talk show First Take as an in-studio guest discussing the play with
host Jay Crawford.
This was the third Top Play of the Day on ESPN SportsCenter for Quinnipiac in the last 13 months, including men's basketball player DeMario Anderson's game-winning buzzer beater from half court against Central Connecticut State University on Feb. 28, 2008.
Quinnipiac heads back out on the road on Thursday,
March 19 when they head to Fairfield, Conn. to take on Fairfield
University in a non-conference match-up set for 3:00
p.m.
