Former Bobcats women’s soccer standout Justine Lombardi begins her sixth season as a member of Dave Clarke's coaching staff. Lombardi was a four-year member of the Bobcats’ defensive midfield unit from 2006-09.
Lombardi works diligently in the training aspect of the team, both physically and mentally throughout the season. She also serves a primary role in the recruitment of future student-athletes and runs a multitude of drills in training. In the offseason, Lombardi runs several soccer clinics with different age groups from middle school aged all the way through high school.
Upon graduation in 2010, Lombardi was hired as an assistant coach at the University of Bridgeport. In the 2011 season with Bridgeport, the Purple Knights finished with a 16-0-2 record and earned a bid to the Division II NCAA Tournament. At the end of her stay, she had witnessed only three losses in her two years.
Lombardi appeared in 64 games, including 58 starts for the Bobcats during her career. Lombardi was a versatile weapon for Coach Clarke, utilizing her in both a midfield and defensive role. Offensively, Lombardi compiled one goal and six assists for a total of eight points.
