Wilkins joined the staff as an assistant coach with the Quinnipiac women's track & field and cross country programs in 2022-23 and will be entering his fourth season with the program this year.
This past season, Sydney Lavelle made her way to the podium as a jumper, finishing third in the long jump during the 2025 Indoor Championships. Wilkins also had a strong first year class under Wilkins' teachings, with first-year Talia Graham scoring in both the indoor and outdoor pole vaults at championships, while also breaking the program records in the event during her first season.
First-Year Lauren Fadairo also broke past the 12.00m mark in the triple jump, becoming the first Bobcat to do so during an outdoor event.
During the 2023-24 campaign, a pair of jumpers found their way to the podium at the MAAC Indoor Championships, including first-year Shaelyn Murphy who won the event in a jump-off and Lavelle who finished second in the long jump. First-year Olivia DeBellis also broke the indoor program record in the pole vault, becoming the second consecutive first-year athlete to set a new mark in the event.
Four Bobcats found their way to the podium during the 2024 outdoor championships during Wilkins' guidance, with a pair of silver medal and two bronze medal finishes.
In his first season, Wilkins coached two individual indoor conference champions in Olaitan Olagundoye and Erin Brennan as they won the high jump and pole vault, respectively. In the same year Brennan went on to break the program's indoor and outdoor pole vault record and be named the 2023 MAAC Indoor Women’s Field Rookie of the Meet.
Prior to joining the Bobcats, Wilkins served as an assistant men's and women's track & field coach for Springfield College. In his four years at Springfield, Wilkins coached six NCAA Div. III All-Americans: Chloe Dewhurst and Caroline Hitchcock in the high jump, Josh Silvester in the triple jump, and Emily LaPlante in the Pentathlon. Wilkins also led 13 individual NCAA DIII Championship Qualifiers and produced 21 individual DIII New England All-Region Athletes. He guided student-athletes to break three program records in the high jump, pole vault and 60m hurdles.
In 2022 Wilkins guided the Indoor and Outdoor USTFCCCA DIII Mideast Regional Field Athlete of the Year in Josh Silvester in his efforts for the triple jump. This marked the first time that a Springfield College men's track and field student-athlete earned USTFCCCA Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year honors.
In recognition for his efforts during the 2020-21 campaign, Wilkins was selected as the USTFCCCA New England Men's Assistant Coach of the Year as 12 student-athletes on the men's squad collected the all-region recognition, the most of any program in the NEWMAC. He become just the second Springfield College assistant coach to ever receive the regional honor.
Prior to his time at Springfield College, Wilkins spent four years as the assistant men's and women's track & field and cross-country coach at the United States Coast Guard Academy. While at Coast Guard, Wilkins coached Darius Adams to a NCAA Division III long jump national title in 2017. Wilkins also guided student-athletes break a combined three program records in the long jump and the pole vault.
Wilkins holds a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies, as well as a Masters of Sports Science in Sports Coaching from the United States Sports Academy. Wilkins also holds certifications from the USTFCCCA including Jumping Event Specialist, Sprints, Hurdles & Relays Specialist, Endurance Event Specialist, Strength & Conditioning, and the High Jump Advanced Endorsement.
