Ian Farley just wrapped up his second season with the Bobcats in the spring of 2025. He joined Mason Poli's staff officially on Monday, October 30, 2023.
Under his guidance, the Bobcats have won 12 contests over the past two seasons. Farley helped lead QU to an upset victory on the road at Canisius in the MAAC Quarterfinals during April of 2025.Farley joins the Bobcats after most recently serving as Head Men's Lacrosse Coach at Mount Saint Mary College (Newburgh, NY) since August of 2022. The Knights won five games last year under Farley's leadership, going 4-3 in conferenc action.
Prior to his time at Mount Saint Mary College, Farley was a member of the coaching staff at Division III Colby College in Waterville, Maine during the 2021-22 academic year. Farley was responsible for player development for the Mules, focusing primarily on offense and recruitment.
Prior to his stint in Waterville, Farley served as an assistant coach and Offensive Coordinator at the College of the Holy Cross from August 2018 – May of 2021. He was responsible for player development and scouting, as well as practice and game film breakdown. During his time in Worcester, Farley helped mentor an All-Patriot League selection as well as two Major League Lacrosse draft picks. While with the Crusaders, Farley also coordinated travel to road games, managed equipment inventory and oversaw academic progress.
Farley also has collegiate coaching experience at Vassar, John Carroll, Marist and Sacred Heart. He was part of the OAC Coaching Staff of the Year in 2016 at John Carroll, then worked with the face-off unit that won 53 percent of draws at Marist during a title year in 2017. While at Sacred Heart, Farley managed the scout offense at practice, worked with the face-off unit and oversaw the program's community service efforts.
Farley played collegiately at Sacred Heart. He served as the team's captain during the 2014-15 campaign, and also was a member of the Pioneers Student-Athlete Advisory Committee during the same season. He earned his Bachelors Degree from the John F. Welch College of Business at Sacred Heart in 2015.
