Ryan Harkins recently completed his fourth season as Director of Men's Basketball Operations in 2020-21.
Harkins has been reunited with Bobcats' head coach Baker Dunleavy at Quinnipiac. He spent two years (2014-15, 2015-16) as a graduate assistant and video coordinator at Villanova, while Dunleavy was the program's associate head coach.
Harkins was on the staff for Villanova's 2016 national championship, when the Wildcats defeated North Carolina at the buzzer 77-74. In his two seasons, Villanova amassed a 68-8 record and earned a No.1 seed and a No. 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament.
While at Villanova, Harkins oversaw a 10-man student manager staff along with two graduate assistants, and assisted in monitoring the student athletes' academic progress. Additionally, he assisted with the planning and implementation of the on-campus visits of high school prospects, and was responsible for the social media coverage of the basketball program.
Before joining the Quinnipiac staff, Harkins served as the director of basketball operations at MAAC rival Siena.
Harkins is quite familiar with the MAAC, as in addition to working as Siena's director of basketball operations for a year, he is also a 2014 graduate of Marist, where he received his bachelor's degree in communications with a minor degree in sports management. A native of Rockville Centre, New York, he spent two years serving as a student manager for the Red Foxes' basketball team.
Harkins earned his master's in education from Villanova's Education Leadership program.
