Wyttenbach Breaks Program First-Year Mark but No. 7 Bobcats Fall at No. 14 Dartmouth
2/27/2026 10:38:00 PM | Men's Ice Hockey
HANOVER, N.H. — First-year forward Ethan Wyttenbach broke the program's Division I first-year scoring record on Friday night but the No. 7 Quinnipiac men's ice hockey program dropped a 7-4 decision to Dartmouth at the Thompson Arena, putting its potential Cleary Cup celebrations on hold for another night.
The Bobcats still control their own destiny for the regular season title and will clinch it with a regulation win on Saturday at Harvard.
Quinnipiac was able to respond to an early Dartmouth goal, scoring two in the latter stages of the first to take a 2-1 lead after 20 minutes.
The Bobcats split the tallies in the second, with two of the nation's top freshman each finding the net in Hayden Stavroff and Wyttenbach, separated by 4:24.
The hosts took control in the third, scoring three in the first 8:38 of the frame to flip a 3-2 deficit into a 5-3 lead they would not relinquish.
STATS AND NOTES
The regular season finale is on tap Saturday in Cambridge, Mass., when the Bobcats take on Harvard at 7 p.m., at the Bright-Landry Hockey Center. The game can be seen live on ESPN+.
