
No. 6 Bobcats, Clarkson Play to 3-3 Tie

POTSDAM, N.Y. — The No. 6 Quinnipiac men's ice hockey program battled to a tie on Saturday night, closing out its road trip with four out of a possible six points to stay in control of its Cleary Cup destiny in the ECAC.
After Clarkson scored the opener, Quinnipiac ripped off three in a row to take a lead into the third period.
Antonin Verreault tied the game late in the first period with a patient goal coming on the power-play.
Early in the second, Aaron Schwartz and Ethan Wyttenbach scored less than two minutes apart, with Wyttenbach's coming again on the advantage to make it 3-1 at the 4:41 mark of the second.
Clarkson would add one at the 15:54 mark of the second before tying the game with 5:38 left in the third.
Both teams had chances in the extra session but neither found the net before Clarkson took the extra point by winning the shootout in five rounds.
STATS AND NOTES
Brown and Yale make their return trips to Hamden to begin the February portion of the schedule, with the Bears coming in Friday night and the Bulldogs making the trip Saturday.
Both games are slated for 7 p.m. puck drops and can be seen live on ESPN+.

- Wyttenbach extended his points streak to eight games with a three-point night, chipping in a goal and two assists. He now leads the country with 41 points.
- He's had a point in 25 games this season, a number that also leads the nation.
- Verreault finished off a strong weekend with another multi-point game, recording a goal and assist. He had five total over the two nights.
- Mason Marcellus added a point with a helper tonight and now sits two points away from 100 for his career.
- Will Gilson added his second, multi-assist game in his last four outings with a pair of helpers.
