The Top Two Teams in the MAAC Will Face off on National TV
Hamden, Conn. – Quinnipiac women's basketball will compete in its first nationally-televised contest since 2022, as the Bobcats' road matchup against Fairfield on February 29th has been flexed to ESPNU as part of the MAAC Wildcard Game Package.
Quinnipiac (9-0 MAAC) currently sits in a tie for first place in the league standings with the Fairfield Stags (9-0 MAAC). The Bobcats have rattled off nine straight to kick off conference play, giving them their best start to MAAC play since the 2018-19 season.
The Bobcats have the nation's second-best defense, allowing an average of 52.6 points per game. Quinnipiac has the league's second-best offense, scoring an average of 68.1 points per game. On the flip side, the Stags have the conference's best offense, scoring at a rate of 79.4 points per game, and the league's third-best defense, allowing 61.2 points per game.

The MAAC Wildcard Game format allows ESPN to pick any game scheduled for that specific date to air on ESPNU and allows the MAAC and ESPN the flexibility to showcase the best matchups as the season progresses.
The 2025-26 campaign culminates with the 2026 Air Force Reserve Men's and Women's Basketball Championships from March 5-10 at Atlantic City's Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall for the seventh consecutive year, dating back to 2020.
